After your K-1 visa case is approved, it will be forwarded to the National Visa Center (NVC) for further processing. If you haven’t received your case number from NVC within 30 days of receiving your NOA2, you can contact NVC to inquire about it. However, if you still haven’t received your case number after contacting NVC, Here are some steps you can take!
You haven’t received your case number?
When you havent recieved the case number after 30 days of receiving NOA2, You can inquiry to NVC.
We first contacted NVC exactly 30 days after receiving NOA2 (I-797) using the email address provided in the letter: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov.
However, we did not receive any reply, even after 10 or 15 days had passed.
As far as we knew from checking with people around us, the case number usually arrives within 3 business days. I realized that something was odd. So, I gathered information on Twitter and found out that some people inquired about their case numbers from a different place.

I asked my fiance to make an inquiry. And amazingly, he received a reply containing the case number on Monday after making the inquiry on Friday.It took 3 days.

You will be notified once this case is forwarded to the assigned US Embassy/Consulate General.
Until our case got “Ready”
After 7 days of receiving the case number, the case status changed to “IN TRANSIT” and the next day, it changed to ”READY”!!!

By the way, this is also information we picked up from Twitter. It seems that the NVC transfers cases to the embassy every 2nd and 4th Tuesday and Wednesday.

“It seems that transfers will take place on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th of August.
Our case also became ‘Instant’ on Tuesday and ‘READY’ on Wednesday, just like the image shows. The person who shared the image also experienced the same thing. If you don’t receive your case number within 30 days, try using the method we introduced here to inquire about it.
